About Our Pet Programs

The Takoma Park Recreation Department knows you love your dog. Let us help you put your best paws forward with professional dog training classes and/or play days. If you’re looking to work with your dog on obedience, tricks, exercise or how to become a better dog handler, we have a class for you! We offer weekend and evening classes and competitive pricing. Classes are held at Heffner Park Community Center. Our instructors feel strongly that training your dog will strengthen the bond between you, and help make your dog an upstanding animal in the community.

Heffner Park Community Center will be closed for a few days for HVAC renovations in June. A date has not be finalized yet. When it is, it could impact class dates.  The instructor will notify participants.

manners or puppy manners class using positive training, or equivalent private sessions. Dogs should be friendly and must have current vaccinations. No pinch, prong, choke or electronic collars in class. To register for dog classes please visit: rewardsdogtraining.com or call 240-462-8045.
