Offers crisis intervention, outreach, counseling, support groups, advocacy, court accompaniment and referral assistance in applying for financial compensation to all crime victims; including children and adult victims of rape and sexual assault, and to adults who have been victims of childhood sexual abuse. Also provides assistance in applying for financial compensation, if qualified. STD Clinic (sexually Transmitted Diseases) (240) 777-1760 The Clinic can provide the necessary testing and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases. Confidential testing for exposure to the HIV virus is available. If You Receive a Hospital Bill For Collection of Evidence The Maryland Department of Health is responsible for paying the hospital expenses incurred in collecting evidence after a sexual assault is reported. This includes the initial emergency room, physician's fee and necessary hospital tests. If you are billed by the hospital for these expenses, call The Victim Assistance and Sexual Assault Program at (240)777-1355 to ensure that the State is properly billed. |
