Traffic Enforcement: Speed Camera Locations in the City of Takoma Park

In March 2009, the City of Takoma Park began participating in Montgomery County’s Safe Speed Program. One police officer and one civilian employee direct the program for the City. Working with ACS Solutions, several cameras have been installed throughout the city.

The state legislation authorized the use of photo-radar speed monitoring systems on residential streets and in school zones, where the posted speed limit is 35mph or less.

Violations could be issued if the vehicle speed is 12mph or more than the posted speed limit. The fine for a speed camera citation is $40.00. There are no points and will not reflect on your insurance.

This camera will be issuing warnings from September 30, 2011 – October 15, 2011. At midnight, October 15, 2011, citations will be issued.
