Chief Alan M. Goldberg of the Takoma Park Police Department announces the arrest of Aaron Keith Ashe, Jr., 19, of Silver Spring, Maryland, for attempt first degree burglary, attempt theft under $500 and 4th degree burglary. Other charges may be pending.

On September 3, 2013, at approximately 9:43 am, Takoma Park Police responded to the 400 block of Mississippi Avenue for the report of a suspicious male looking into houses. Takoma Park Police Department’s Special Assignment Team (SAT) canvassed the area and located the subject who matched the description given. SAT saw the subject exit from a vehicle. It was learned that the vehicle did not belong to this subject. SAT continued to monitor the subject while he continued looking into houses. After watching the subject walk out from the side of a residence on Oswego Avenue he was stopped by SAT. The subject was in possession of a weapon and items indicative of burglary tools. Ashe was arrested for entering the vehicle as well as the attempt burglary on Oswego Avenue, of which the door showed evidence of an attempt to pry it open.

Ashe was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit without incident.
