Malicious Destruction of Property - Community Advisory

On February 23, 2014, at approximately 6:50 am, Takoma Park Police responded to the unit block of Ritchie Avenue for a report of destruction of property. Unknown suspect(s) used an unknown object to break out the rear passenger small window of the victim's vehicle. No property was taken.

Pedestrian Struck; Minor Injuries - Community Advisory

On February 21, 2014, at approximately 11:56 am, Takoma Park Police responded to the 1100 block of University Blvd. for a report of a pedestrian struck. The victim had gotten off of the bus and entered the crosswalk to cross over the eastbound lanes of University Blvd when she was struck. The pedestrian suffered minor, non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The driver of the vehicle did remain at the scene.

Stolen Auto - Community Advisory

On February 20, 2014, at approximately 11:30 am, Takoma Park Police responded to the 1300 block of Holton Lane (Post Office) for a report of a stolen company auto. The outstanding stolen vehicle is described as a 2006 blue Range Rover with tag #MD09237M4. The suspect seen driving away in the company auto is described as a black male, dark complexion, 6'0 -6'3, 170-180 lbs., scruffy hair and beard, last seen wearing a purple jacket with writing on the front, gray sweatpants and black and white shoes.

Tornado Watch - Community Advisory

The National Weather Service has issued a TORNADO WATCH for Montgomery County effective immediately.

Be prepared. Tornadoes can form from severe thunderstorms with little or no advanced warning. Know your safe room in your home, at school, and at work.. Remain alert for the issuance of warnings.

National Capital Region Full-Scale Exercise - Community Advisory

On Tuesday, March 18, 2014, the National Capital Region (NCR) is hosting a full-scale exercise to test the capabilities of area hospitals in a critical care medical surge event. Fifteen Maryland hospitals will be participating in a mock-casualty incident resulting from a terrorist attack to exercise their capacity to care for critically injured patients.
