Vandalism - Community Advisory

On December 26, 2013, at approximately 6:17 pm, Takoma Park Police responded to the 7700 block of Greenwood Avenue for the report of a vandalism. Unknown suspect(s) damaged a large transformer owned by Pepco. Pepco was notified of the damages and indicated they would send a representative out to assess the damage.

Attempt Residential Burglary - Community Advisory

On December 22, 2013, at approximately 6:19 pm, Takoma Park Police responded to the 6800 block of Westmoreland Avenue for reports of an attempt residential burglary that occurred. Unknown suspect(s) attempted entry into the residence by kicking in the main door of the residence without success. Entry was not made and property was not taken.

Flood Watch for Montgomery County - Community Advisory

The National Weather Service has issued a FLOOD WATCH for Montgomery County until 2:00 p.m. Monday. Expected heavy rains may have the potential to cause severe and unexpected flooding within the next 24 hours.

 

Flash Floods kill more people every year than any other weather hazard. Do not drive through flooded areas. As little as 2 feet of water can sweep a vehicle off the road. Please stay alert for any warnings.

A Message from the Chief of Police Regarding Thefts from Vehicles- Community Advisory

Throughout the months of November and December thus far, the City of Takoma Park has experienced 17 thefts from vehicles. All incidents took place at various times throughout the days/evenings. The break-in and thefts occurred in the following areas:

6900 block of Laurel Avenue

7100 block of 14th Avenue

100 block of Elm Avenue

600 block of Elm Avenue

Stolen Auto Tag - Community Advisory

On December 18, 2013, Takoma Park Police responded to the 7500 block of Maple Avenue for the report of a stolen automobile tag. The victim last saw her tag on December 18 at 3:30 pm. The outstanding tag is Virginia tag #XMT9699 and was on the front of the vehicle.
