Malicious Destruction of Property - Community Advisory

On April 14, 2014, Takoma Park Police responded to the 1300 block of Holton Lane for a report of destruction of property. Some time between April 12 at 6:00 pm and April 14 at 9:00 am, unknown suspect(s) used an unknown object to crack the glass to the front door of a business.

Bicycle Theft - Community Advisory

On April 13, 2014, at approximately 5:24 pm, Takoma Park Police responded to the 1200 block of Kingwood Drive for a report of a stolen bicycle. Sometime between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm, unknown suspect(s) stole the victim's bicycle from the residence driveway. The bicycle is described as a purple Mountain bike.

1. Never give your MoneyPak number to someone you don’t know.

2. Never give receipt information about your MoneyPak purchase to another party.

Armed Robbery - Community Advisory

On April 7, 2014, at approximately 7:44 pm, Takoma Park Police responded to the 6500 block of New Hampshire Avenue (Jiffy Lube) for the report of an armed robbery. Employees were closing the business for the night when an unknown suspect entered the business and pulled out a silver handgun. The suspect took property from the business and from one of the victims. A K9 track was conducted which led officers to Orchard and 4th Avenue where the track was lost. There were no physical injuries.

Residential Burglary - Community Advisory

On April 7, 2014, at approximately 3:00 pm, Takoma Park Police responded to the 7100 block of Garland Avenue for a report of a residential burglary. Sometime between April 4 at 1:00 pm and April 7 at 3:00 pm, unknown suspect(s)made entry into the residence. The suspects(s) first tried entry by breaking a glass window on the kitchen door, and then when entry could not be made, the suspect(s) broke a glass window on the patio door and damaged the door frame near the dead bolt lock assembly to gain access.

Takoma Park Police Department Investigating Telephone Fraud Scam - Community Advisory

Detectives from the Takoma Park Police Department are investigating an incident involving a fraudulent telephone scam that has occurred within the City.

On April 7, 2014, at approximately 10:00 am, officers received information from a citizen who resides in the 100 block of Lee Avenue that he was the victim of a telephone scam/fraud scheme.
