Azalea Sculpture to Be Unveiled!

Monday, May 5, 2014

Join us for the unveiling of a new sculpture in the heart of the Long Branch community at the bustling intersection of Flower Avenue and Piney Branch Road to welcome folks to Takoma Park!

Commissioned by the City of Takoma Park in 2012, the piece was created by Howard Connelly, a Montgomery County artist who has contributed to other local art projects, including last year's Please Sit on the Art installation along Carroll Avenue. The sculpture, made of colorful metal and recycled rail tracks, will make a prominent and celebratory statement at the City’s northern gateway.
