City Manager Matthews informed the City Council that the project design team had conducted a reinspection of punch list items for Phase One of the Community Center project during the week of November 13th. Once finalized, she would review the report with James F. Knott Construction Company.
The City Manager noted that the parties were still working to finalize the settlement agreement with Powermax, the mechanical subcontractor to James F. Knott Construction. There were still several issues that required further discussion.
City Manager Matthews stated that discussions concerning how to address the City's concerns regarding the tile workmanship in the lobby on the Public Safety Plaza were continuing. James F. Knott Construction had proposed to have a small section of the floor redone for the City's consideration. After consultation with the City Engineer, the City's construction management consultants, and others, staff wished to explore alternate flooring options that might prove to be more durable in the long-run.
The City Manager informed the City Council that a copy of the gym feasibility study had been posted on the City's website. ANCL Architects would be meeting with the Community Center Liaison Committee at 7:30 p.m. on November 21, 2006 to discuss their analysis.
