City Manager Matthews noted that the mediation session with James F. Knott Construction and one of its subcontractors (PowerMax) was scheduled to take place on Monday, May 22nd. She would be out of the office for a majority of the day as a result of the mediation session.
The City Manager updated the City Council on the status of the corrective repairs to the front (Maple Avenue) parking lot. She informed the City Council that the parties had agreed to conduct certain testing prior to commencement of the repairs. The testing was scheduled to take place on May 16th and May 17th and would necessitate a partial closure of the parking lot. Parking for handicapped customers would continue to be available for those visiting the Police Department; those requiring service from other City departments should park in the Grant Avenue lot. All other visitors to the Community Center should parking in the rear parking lot.

City Manager Matthews advised the City Council that she had discussed the elevator cab pricing with TRG Construction as a follow-up to the May 8th work session . The firm agreed to lower its price by approximately $10,000, resulting in revised pricing of $179,172. Virtually all of this expense would be accounted for in FY07. Following a discussion of this matter, the City Council authorized the City Manager to execute the necessary change order to move forward with the elevator cab installation.
The City Manager informed the City Council that the current substantial completion date for Phase Two was May 26th. She added that there were some issues still under discussion with the Fire Marshal's Office that might impact this date.
