City Manager's Update - March 28, 2005

City Manager Matthews noted that there was an additional trailer on the Municipal Building parking lot. Several Administration Department employees had to be relocated due to the construction of the Computer Learning Center; part of the construction activities for the Computer Learning Center involved the demolition of walls in these offices. The effected employees would be housed in the trailer until James F. Knott Construction Company's work was completed.

The City Manager further advised the City Council that the contractor would soon begin work on removing, storing, and replacing ceiling tile and grid in the Administration and Finance Department areas. This work was related to installation of the air handling system. On Saturday, April 2nd and Sunday, April 3rd, the contractor will remove the ceiling tile and grid. During the week of April 4th, James F. Knott Construction Company will be taking measurements for the fabrication of additional duct work. In mid-April, the Administration and Finance Department staff will need to be relocated for a period of seven to ten days for the installation of the ductwork. Staff was in the process of identifying temporary office space for these employees that would allow the continuation of customer service and productive work during this timeframe.
