About Jarrett Smith
Raised as an “Army brat”, Jarrett Smith moved to the Washington area to attend Howard University. He has lived in Takoma Park since 2004 and currently works in commercial real estate. Most days he can be found walking through Sligo Creek Park or on Flower Avenue on his way to and from the Metro (or on the #12 Ride On). Prior to joining the Council in 2012, Smith served on the Commission on Landlord-Tenant Affairs (COLTA) and the Washington Adventist Hospital Land-Use Committee (WAHLUC). He has also volunteered for Accion USA, the largest micro-lender in North America, working with local organizations to assist small, local businesses. He feels lucky to live in a community with walkable streets, natural beauty and great diversity.
