The City Clerk's Office provides a variety of services and acts as a central source of information for residents, managers and other City staff, the City Council, other local governments and outside organizations. Regular activities focus around the Council's weekly meetings. The City Clerk also serves as the elections administrator for all City elections, manages the City's records retention program, and maintains the City Code. The navigation menu on the left side of the page details the full range of services the City Clerk provides.

Results of Nominating Caucus

At the Nominating Caucus on September 29, 2015 the following candidates were nominated for office:

These names will be on the ballot for the November 3 City Election. There will also be an advisory question on changing the date of future elections. Sample ballots will be posted shortly. Absentee ballots will be available on October 9.

Election Helpers Wanted - Apply Now

Applicants should be Takoma Park registered voters, detail oriented, and impartial for this election. Those who speak a language in addition to English are encouraged to consider helping, as are 16 or 17 year old voters and non-U.S. citizen voters. Opportunities include:
  • Voter Registrars - to assist with voter registration at various locations and events in Takoma Park. This is not a paid position.
  • Election Judges - to work during early voting (Oct. 28 – Nov.1) and/or for the day of the election (Nov. 3). Hours will vary. Stipend.

Public Hearing on Traffic Calming Request for the 600 Block of Boston Avenue

Residents of Boston Avenue have petitioned to have traffic calming installed on the 600 block of Boston Avenue along the east end of Silver Spring Intermediate Park in order to slow traffic and protect pedestrians.
