Poetry Series: Presented by the Takoma Park Arts and Humanities Commission. Monthly reading held at the Takoma Park Community Center.

Jazz Band Brawl 2008: This annual event, sponsored by Takoma Park's Jazz Band Brawl was held at Takoma Station in March 2008. http://www.tpjazzfest.org/.

Tastes of Takoma: This annual festival, sponsored by Columbia Union College, features music, crafts, childrens activities, performances and local food vendors. Featured this month are; Tree Surgeons, Terrell Hunt & Denise Barclay.

Energy Star Presentation for Small Business: Co-Sponsored by the Takoma Park Committee on the Environment.

Azalea Awards 2008: Annual recognition ceremony sponsored by the Takoma Foundation and the Takoma Voice.

Saving Energy at Home: April 23rd presentation Saving Energy At Home co-sponsored by the Sierra Club of Montgomery County, Takoma Park Committee on the Environment and the Takoma Park Green Building Group.

Starting in May 2008, City TV will be digging through its archives to bring viewers some musical favorites from years gone by. This series will feature performances from the Folk Festival, the Street Festival, Jazz Band Brawl, Jazz Fest, and Tastes of Takoma.

NASA provides us with three great series:

NASA Connect is an Emmy award winning mathematics, science and technology instructional distance learning series for grades 5 through 8 produced by the NASA Langley Research Center's Office of Education.

Destination Tomorrow , a series featuring information about math, science and NASA activities for adult learners.

The NASA SCIence Files (Formerly known as "The NASA Why? Files) is a distance learning initiative designed to enhance and enrich the teaching of mathematics, science, geography, and technology in grades three though five. The NASA SCIence Files is a television and web-based project that provides students with the opportunity to apply the methods of science while solving real world problems.
