WASHINGTON ADVENTIST HOSPITAL EXPANSION PROPOSAL & REVIEW PROCESS What's New: 1) The Montgomery County Planning Board will be briefed on options to change the way hospitals go through the Montgomery County zoning process when proposing to make changes to their campuses. The briefing will occur at the Planning Board's 9:30 am meeting on Thursday, July 22, 2004 at the auditorium at 8787 Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring. The item will likely be heard around 10:15 am. This is a briefing by Park and Planning staff and there will be no opportunity for public comment at this meeting. Information on the meeting, and how to listen to the meeting over the Internet, can be found on the Planning Board's web site at www.mc-mncppc.org . Memo from Suzanne Ludlow, Takoma Park Community & Government Liaison Planning Board Discussion of Approaches to Hospital Regulation (7/20/04) 2) Currently, Washington Adventist Hospital is investigating the possibility of building an approximately 50,000 square foot office facility in the Long Branch neighborhood. If this facility moves forward, the Hospital has said it would reduce the size of its proposed new office on its campus. The effort is being supported in concept by the Long Branch Task Force as a key to redevelopment efforts in the neighborhood. No details are available at this time.
