Takoma Park maintains 34 miles of streets and 28 miles of sidewalk in our City. The City provides the following services on City streets: Pothole repair on City maintained streets Sidewalk maintenance Street sign replacement Painting of streets and crosswalks Snow removal & ice treatment To report a problem on a City street or side-walk call the Public Works Department at 301.891.7633. State Highway maintains Philadelphia Avenue (400-600 block) Carroll Avenues, Piney Branch Road and New Hampshire Avenue. Montgomery County maintains Flower Ave (7900 to 8600 block). M-NCPPC maintains Sligo Creek Parkway.

STREETLIGHT MAINTENANCE

Streetlights are owned and maintained by PEPCO. The City pays the electric bill and the cost to add or change them. To request a streetlight or to increase the lighting of a fixture please make a writen request identifying the area in detail, the pole number(s), if available, and reason for request: Public Works Department.
